Heather Rae El Moussa Says She Wants to Team Up with Christina Haack on ‘The Flip Off’ (Exclusive)

Heather Rae El Moussa is ready to show her husband Tarek who’s the actual world’s best flipper in season 2 of The Flip Off — with some help from his ex-wife Christina Haack!

While HGTV has yet to confirm a second season of the competition series, the network has acknowledged season one was a major hit as fans loved seeing Heather and Tarek compete (and win!) in the house flipping showdown against Christina. 

During an exclusive interview with PEOPLE about her new home collection with SHEIN, Heather admitted that she’s eager for season 2, but this time, she wants to see her and Christina on the same team while Tarek competes alone. 

“I think that it would be super fun,” Heather tells PEOPLE of the possible new team dynamic. “I think that people would love to see Christina and I working together and beating my husband because he thinks that he could beat us, especially in a design contest.”

Despite being on opposing teams in season 1, Christina and Heather both flexed their elevated design styles that fans know and love. 

Meanwhile, Heather says her husband is still “confident” that his expert house flipping knowledge would be enough to beat the two of them — even in a “design-off.”

“The other night, I was picking on [Tarek] about something and we were going back and forth. He’s like, ‘I could beat you guys,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, really? You think you could beat us in a design-off?’ And he said, ‘Yes.’”

Her response to that was: “Are you crazy? Against two designers?!”

In addition to wanting to prove her husband wrong, Heather notes that she’s especially intrigued to see how she and Christina will act as teammates. 

She continues, “I’m so up for the challenge, and it’d be interesting to see how Christina and I work together and design together.”

Heather said working on a project like The Flip Off with Tarek and Christina has made their relationship as co-parents much stronger. 

Christina and Tarek, who were married from 2009 to 2016, share two children together: daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9. After Tarek and Heather tied the knot in October 2021, the couple welcomed their son Tristan, 2, in January 2023.

“It’s made communication more open,” she explains of their closer relationship. “I think when you’re getting along with someone and you can communicate — especially if something’s going on in the kids’ lives — we can talk to each other about it and make sure we’re on the same page,” she explains. “It just makes everything better and everyone happier.”

While Christina and Heather’s relationship got off to a rocky start, the pair now consider each other good friends. 

The Selling Sunset alum even said she and Christina are currently in the process of planning another blended family vacation together after their first successful Easter getaway in April. She tells PEOPLE that she enjoys spending time with the Christina on the Coast star and that they “have fun having girl talks” together when they hang out. 

Earlier in June, Heather tapped Christina to appear in a campaign for her Heather Rae Essentials beauty line. To celebrate the launch of the new Perfect Pink Lippie Gloss, the HGTV stars sizzled in matching hot pink bikinis.

The cheeky campaign seemingly poked fun at fans’ constant comments that the two look alike — and that Tarek has a “type.”
